As years pass by, the jaw bone structure quality in our mouth can also deteriorate for many possible reasons. It might lose strength and not be able to protect and heal on its own. This goes for every bone in our body.  In Dentistry, to be able to place the implants, a strong bone structure is needed to hold the implants.

Thanks to the technology, the Bone Graft procedure can help to increase the bone amount in the jawbone and give it the necessary support. This minor surgery can be done for both the upper and lower jaw.

Generally speaking, the bone graft material (like powder) is inserted directly into the bone where the bone loss is. This will cover the missing area, and it will help your body to regenerate and grow new bone tissue.

Most of the time, our dentists place the implants at different angles in the upper jawbone to avoid the Sinus area. In cases of missing tooth roots that are no longer there to hold the sinuses in their place, the sinuses can drop and occupy the missing root area.

If there is no sufficient bone quantity and the Sinus floor needs to be raised, Sinus Lifting AKA Sinus Augmentation will be performed.

The Sinus membrane will be lifted back up to its place and the sinus floor area will be filled with bone graft. This will hold the sinuses in their places and regenerate the bone.
